Effective October 9, 2026. This policy covers the Steven D Games account and registration service, including game activations, purchases, scoreboards, and support. The operator responsible for this information is Steven Daugherty. For privacy questions or requests, email stevendaugherty99@gmail.com.
Information we collect and why
- Accounts: your email address, display name, password hash, verification and recovery information, account roles, and email preferences. We use these to manage your account, authenticate you, and communicate with you. We record preference choices, the time, where the choice was made, and the notice version.
- Game access and purchases: game and downloadable-content entitlements, machine-slot limits, beta access, and purchase records. PayPal supplies payment confirmation information, including order/capture identifiers, amounts, and currency. A purchaser may supply your email when buying access for you. Payment details are entered with PayPal; this account service does not store full payment-card numbers.
- Devices and security: device names, operating systems, machine identifiers supplied by the game, activation dates, IP addresses, session-token hashes and timestamps, request limits, and security events. These help us activate games, enforce device limits, investigate errors, and prevent abuse. Machine identifiers identify a computer, not a biological fingerprint.
- Scores: your display name, account email, game, score, game summary, and posting time. Display names, scores, summaries, and posting times may be visible to other players or the public, depending on the game's scoreboard settings. The normal scoreboard display omits your email.
- Support: messages and any diagnostic details you submit, their timestamps, ticket status, and moderation records. We use these to answer requests and investigate problems. Please avoid including passwords or unnecessary personal information in messages.
Information comes from you, your game client and browser, purchasers buying access for you, and PayPal. Account and activation information is needed to provide the service; without it we cannot maintain your account or activate paid games. Marketing subscriptions and support submissions are optional.
Email choices
If you opt in, Steven D Games will use your email address to send the categories you select: marketing emails may include sales, discounts, and special offers; news emails may include game announcements, releases, and updates. Both are optional. You can opt out at any time in your Profile or through the preferences/unsubscribe link in these emails. This does not affect game access or essential account, purchase, security, and support messages. See our Privacy Policy.
New accounts start with both optional email categories turned off. Withdrawing your choice stops future use for that category; it does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
How we use and disclose information
Where European data-protection law applies, we use information needed to provide the account, purchases, activations, and requested support to perform our contract with you; optional marketing and news emails rely on your consent. Security and abuse prevention serve our legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users. We may also keep information needed to meet legal obligations or resolve legal claims.
Authorized administrators can access records to operate the service and handle support. Hosting providers process stored records and server requests; Mailgun processes recipients and message content to deliver email; PayPal processes payments. Support notifications may include your message and display name or email. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to resolve a dispute.
This account service does not sell account information or use it for advertising across unrelated websites. The PayPal checkout is an external service and may collect browser, device, and payment information under its own privacy notice.
Storage, security, and retention
Records are stored in server databases and operational files, with backups when enabled. Passwords and game session tokens are stored as hashes rather than their original values. Account access checks and administrator permissions restrict access through the service. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Account and entitlement records are retained to maintain your account and continuing access to purchases. Device records support active registrations; score retention depends on each game's settings and may continue until removal is requested. Support, security, preference-history, and payment records are reviewed according to their continuing purpose, applicable recordkeeping duties, and disputes. The service does not currently impose a fixed automatic deletion period on all logs or backups. You may request deletion or ask which records remain and why.
Account deletion also removes matching records from this service's payment logs and local database backups. It cannot recall delivered emails or erase independent PayPal, Mailgun, hosting-provider, or externally managed backup and log records. Contact us for help with those records and any applicable retention exceptions. Hosting, email, and payment providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area; contact us for information about processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards.
Cookies and automated checks
The account website uses a session cookie for login, security, preferences, and navigation. Blocking it may prevent the account interface from working. This account service does not implement advertising trackers or change its behavior in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal. PayPal's embedded checkout may use its own cookies and collect information when loaded.
Automated checks validate credentials, purchases, device limits, and request rates. They can reject access or temporarily limit requests. Contact us to request review if you think a check is wrong.
Your choices, rights, and account deletion
You can delete your account from your Profile. You must enter your current password on the secure confirmation form and confirm permanent deletion. This ends access to all purchased games, DLC, and machine slots, invalidates browser and game sessions, and removes your machines, tokens, scores on all configured public and beta boards, support history, preferences, and account-linked security records. This cannot be undone; a new account with the same email does not recover those purchases or records.
For help with deletion, a copy of your information, or a correction, email stevendaugherty99@gmail.com or open an Account ticket through Support. Include your account email and the request; never send your password in an email or ticket. You do not need to create an account or be able to log in to email a request. We may ask for information needed to verify your account ownership or an agent's authorization. You can unsubscribe from optional emails without deleting your account or losing purchases.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. California residents may also have rights to know about collection and disclosure, opt out of sale or sharing, limit qualifying uses of sensitive information, and exercise applicable rights without discrimination. We use account credentials to provide and secure the service.
If the GDPR applies, you may complain to your local data-protection authority. We respond within applicable legal deadlines, normally one month for GDPR requests or 45 days for covered California requests, and explain any permitted extension or refusal.
Policy changes
We will post revisions here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an account notice or email where required. A policy update does not by itself opt you into additional marketing.
